Grain Marketing

Grain is without doubt one of the most challenging commodities to trade due to the outside and often uncontrollable influences that affect it.

Weather, fluctuating exchange rates, supply and demand all serve to impact on the price a farmer can expect to receive for their crop. This, coupled with a general lack of good market information, can force growers to react rather than proactively manage portfolios to achieve the best possible return for their grain.

We employ expert market traders who have the knowledge, understanding and experience to place your grain at the best location to achieve the maximum return. Through our diverse but comprehensive marketing tools, we ensure that risk is managed effectively, whilst ultimately achieving the best possible price for our suppliers.

Our marketing portfolio includes:

POOLS – a complete marketing programme designed as a transparent low risk option to outperform the market over four trading periods. Timing of pool sales is managed by Fengrain’s expert marketing team with the aim of optimising grain returns to the member. Pool grain can be on farm, or in the central store, and farmers can receive various advance payments to suit individual cash flow requirements.

DIRECT AND SPOT MARKETING – future and spot price updates, via phone, text and email enables the informed timing of marketing decisions to be made by the grower.

FENPRO FORWARD CONTRACTS – An innovative range of contracts offering minimum prices, special premiums and fixed contracts across a range of commodities. Our marketing options allow you to sell your crop at any time, to maximise your earning potential but perhaps most importantly, Fengrain’s strong balance sheet will ensure that you will be paid promptly. We can also offer a wide variety of pre-payments for committed grain.
