YOU ARE HERE: HOME / GRAIN STORAGE

Grain Storage
The Fengrain store is registered under the Trade Assured Scheme for Combinable Crops and provides a 100,000 tonne grain storage facility with a sophisticated sampling system. The facility is capable of efficiently storing and drying all types of
combinable crops.

Our storage options are flexible and offer good value for money. Members are invited to purchase committed space according to individual needs, for example, you may purchase enough space to store an entire harvest or simply to compliment your own farm storage capacity. Annual maintenance fees are payable based on the space owned and Fengrain endeavours to fill any uncommitted space to reduce overall costs.

We also provide a haulage subsidy for members who are geographically distant from our site to ensure your transport costs are kept to a minimum.

New Initiatives

Fengrain strives to provide the best facilities for our members and this year embarks on an extensive programme of investment to improve customer  service, and increase storage capacity and efficiency. New initiatives that you can expect to see in 2009 include:

  • The introduction of a Customer Relationship Management system to provide a better, integrated service and advice to growers.
  • IT investment in stock management and weighbridge systems to manage all inbound logistics and stock replenishment.

Major new projects planned for the 2009 harvest that will increase site capacity and add value to the crops stored will include:

  • A new Cyclonic Wheat Pre-cleaner allowing for more grain to be dressed before storage.
  • 4,000 tons of additional capacity.
  • A new Malting Barley Pre Cleaner and Dresser to handle the increasing demand for dressed barley.
  • Two bulk out-loading silos to speed up the out-loading process. Increasing site flexibility.

These initiatives will be carried out with the support of the East of England Development Agency, ensuring that we continue to provide a high standard of customer service, site efficiency and to add value to your commodities.
